Seminars

Optional application seminars for potential Creative Work Fund applicants are being offered beginning in mid-January.

Applicants are not required to attend a seminar, but are encouraged to do so—especially if they are unfamiliar with the Fund—and seminars fill quickly. Call 415-402-2794 to reserve a seat at least two business days before the event. (See alternative method below for signing up for the January 16 seminar.)

2008 informational seminars are as follows:

Tuesday, January 15, 2:30-4:30 p.m., The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, 2121 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park

Wednesday, January 16, 1:30-2:30 p.m., “Grantseeking Basics for Individuals in the Arts,” presented by The Foundation Center, 312 Sutter Street (near Stockton), Suite 606, San Francisco. This course is geared towards individuals involved in the arts and looking to fund any type of arts-related project.  If you are an individual involved in the arts and looking for funding to complete a project, mount an exhibition, put on a performance, conduct research, or anything else arts-related, Grantseeking Basics for Individuals in the Arts will show you how.  Topics to be covered will include identifying funders in the arts, exploring fiscal sponsorship and creating a step-by-step plan to find funding for your needs as an individual grantseeker.
